SJM in deeply concerned with the government going fast track on opening up of retail sector for FDI on baseless arguments, without giving a heed to the recommendations of the parliamentary committee on the issue.

Swadeshi Jagaran Manch congratulates people of India in general and activists of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, farmers, NGOs, members of scientific community, media and all those people who mobilized public opinion in a domocratic way to make government understand the folly of allowing commercialisation of Bt, Brinjal in the country. Countrymen were perturbed by the indications emanating from official sources suggesting preparedness of the government of India to concede its ground on Bt. Brinjal under pressure from the USA and Multinational companies from that country.
