Double-blind peer review process, timeline, and reviewer guidelines

Double-Blind Review
Double-Blind Peer Review Mechanism

Contemporary Swadeshi employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process. This means:

  • The identities of the authors are concealed from the reviewers throughout the review process.
  • The identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors.
  • This ensures objective, transparent, and unbiased evaluation of manuscripts based solely on scholarly quality and scientific rigor.

Authors must ensure that all identifying metadata (names, institutional affiliations, self-citations) is removed from the blinded manuscript file before submission.

Step-by-Step Review Workflow
  1. Editorial Screening: The Editor-in-Chief assesses scope alignment, plagiarism score, and formatting compliance within 5–7 days.
  2. Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts passing screening are assigned to at least two independent expert referees in the relevant subject area.
  3. Review Period: Reviewers evaluate manuscripts within 3–4 weeks based on originality, methodology, and policy relevance.
  4. Decision: The editor issues one of four outcomes: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Reject.
  5. Author Revision: Authors are provided 2–4 weeks to submit revisions with a point-by-point rebuttal letter.
  6. Final Decision: The editorial board issues final acceptance upon satisfactory peer approval.
